Here at The English Gardening School we have been making quite a few changes recently and to go along with those, welcome to our new regular monthly newsletter!
For those of you who are new to the EGS, we appreciate you joining and here’s a quick introduction to what we’re all about.
The English Gardening School was founded over 40 years ago by Veitch medallist, former Chelsea Flower Show judge and doyenne of the Garden Design world, Rosemary Alexander. From her renowned and much photographed Sandhill Farm House garden, Rosemary will be sending exclusive monthly seasonal updates and photographs, focussing on her favourite plants and jobs to do in the garden.
For our Alumni, welcome back, and of course you will be very familiar with Sandhill Farm House. We hope Rosemary’s section will bring you happy memories of your visits there.
The EGS exists to educate and inspire all those interested in the world of horticulture. Alumni often go on to pursue such varied careers as garden journalism, TV presenting, garden making, planting design, gardening and of course, garden design. As Rosemary says, students never really leave, and those in horticulture never stop learning about gardens! These emails will therefore offer a mix of horticultural knowledge, with beautiful photographs to inspire. They will also offer a way of keeping up to date with what’s going on at the EGS, whether you are an absolute beginner who’d like to learn more about the warm and welcoming world of the EGS, or you’re alumni eager to keep learning!
