The School was founded in 1983 by garden guru Rosemary Alexander and is based at the historic Chelsea Physic Garden
We provide serious studies in gardening techniques, knowledge of plants, plus garden layout and design possibilities, overseen by major personalities in this growing industry. Termly links with Arundel Castle garden and practical work, guided by experienced gardeners at Rosemary Alexander’s well known garden in Hampshire, ensure that the course is both practical and theoretical.
I am so pleased I came on the course. Challenging at times, but very rewarding. I have learnt so much and the tutors made us feel very welcome.

Many students come from abroad, where the School is recognised as the leading international establishment of its type.
Students value our help and encouragement in developing their personal skills as gardeners, designers, writers, planting consultants or media presenters.
