The English Gardening School at The Chelsea Physic Garden, London

About the School

The English Gardening School was founded in 1983 by Rosemary Alexander, a pioneering figure in the gardening world. Based at the historic Chelsea Physic Garden, the School offers courses for all gardeners, from the green-fingered beginner to the professional garden designer.

Short Courses

Our programme of short courses, from one day to ten weeks in length, is updated twice a year and covers all aspects of gardening, from design to horticulture and botanical painting. Our lecturers are experts, with many regarded as the leading authority in their field. Classes are interactive and give innovative and practical ideas to apply to your own garden. Most days run from 10.30am to 3.30pm and include a delicious lunch.
